Friendship is a very special thing. In my life, I've had a few friends that were invaluable. My favorite friends are the ones I can carry on conversations with after years of absence as if we'd never parted. Oh the sweet fellowship of friends that can truly connect no matter the distance or time that may separate us. I'm an odd-ball though when it comes to encouraging friendships for my children. Knowing the fickleness of youth and the fact that you are generally stuck with your family for life, I more actively encourage my children to be friends with each other instead of looking for relationships outside of our home.
