We've already started having fires in Oklahoma. Several places have a 'burn ban'. We need rain. Eastern Oklahoma got a lot of rain last year, but things are still too dry. We haven't received near as much. The dust has been awful.
Otherwise, the weather has been beautiful most days. The children have been flying kites. We could still get snow but you wouldn't guess it. We've had windows open several days too. I love being able to open the windows and let the clean breeze move the sounds of nature through the house. It's hard to make the children do school on such nice days. Who wants to be stuck in a book when the outdoors are calling? |
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9 KJV
I'm praying for rain. I even washed two of our vehicles. That's better than a rain dance usually, especially if you couple it with clothes hanging on the line. For some reason though, the Almighty hasn't seen fit to bless us with the moisture though. I won't hazard to guess why. There are so many reasons not to bless... If we think about it, we have many, many blessings to be thankful for. Yes, the rain would be very nice. Yes, we really need it. But, we're surviving.
For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God... Hebrews 6:7
Maybe instead of rain (or along with it!) we should be praying for HIM to pour out HIS Holy Spirit on us? It's not really a question is it? Yes, that's what we should be doing.
Lord Father in Heaven YHWH,
Please pour out Your Spirit on us and send the much needed rain.
Amen.
