Our boys love studying the history of war, soldiers, armies, naval fleets, and firearms. I’d say it’s a boy thing, but the girls like it too. I hated history in school, but when I started homeschooling and learning true HIStory, I learned to love it. I’ve always been fascinated by biographies and true stories. It just never occurred to me it was history.
War can be a scary thing, but history is so important to learn and understand. Our history helps us understand our present and our future. It defines a big part of who we are. Jesus knew we would face frightening times. I’m sure many of the people who went through WWII thought HE would be coming very soon. Corrie ten Boom knew how hard things could get. We can learn so much from her books and the DVD’s made about her.
“And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.” (Matthew 24:6 & Mark 13:7)
