Bible Devotions for Children

Nest Family Entertainment videos have been the biggest part of our children’s devotional time for almost 20 years now.  We just love them.  I was a distributor for a few years to help pay for our first set of VHS videos, then a few years ago we were able to use a tax refund to replace them with the DVD’s. These have been one of the best investments we’ve made.  I love reading out loud to my children, but I simply don’t have the time to do it as much as I’d like. Having wonderful videos like this are such a blessing for me.  They are very Biblically sound and not corny at all.  

We can easily watch them as a family and often Hubby or I will stop and watch and discuss with the children about the lessons.  The children will bring them up in conversations and when they are learning other things.  We know they are “getting it”. Also available with them are activity coloring books that include something for all ages. Our girls like to color and we never grow out of it.  (I still enjoy coloring and drawing…) The boys however, would rather do puzzles or games.  They enjoy the “secret code” type activities.  I think they have now replaced these with the “Interactive DVD’s” that can go into the computer and print pages out for the children.  (More ‘green’ I suppose…)

Please be aware that even though we may call these “stories” they are TRUTH. The Bible is HIStory. Also, no matter how good the devotional books or videos may be, there is nothing better than GOD’s word. Always take time to actually open the Bible with your children and read directly from it. They especially love it when you help them find it in their very own Bible and help them highlight a special scripture just for them to see. Even if they aren’t reading yet, they will enjoy looking for that highlighted scripture and bringing it to someone to show and read for them. Here is a list of the ones I found on Amazon:
