Review: The Rhyme & Reason Series by Catherine Zoller

I've been very concerned about the lack of prophecy information available for children. I feel like when I share this with people they have got to think I'm only trying to push my own book. I was beyond thrilled to learn about Catherine Zoller's set...

The Rhyme & Reason Series by Catherine Zoller is a fun set... These illustrations and poems are AWESOME! I'm really so excited to share this with you.

I've been very concerned about the lack of prophecy information available for children. I feel like when I share this with people they have got to think I'm only trying to push my own book. I was beyond thrilled to learn about Catherine Zoller's set and that she had the courage to tackle the books of Daniel and Revelation. These two books, in my humble opinion are like Part I & Part II of Prophecy 101. Well, actually everyone should start with Genesis... which she tackled as well!

These are amazing books! No simple children's 'picture books' here. Catherine Zoller actually tackled (I keep using that word, maybe 'rangled' would be better!) COMPLETE books of the Bible. She didn't just give an abbreviated synopsis of the touchy-feely good parts. She did skip over some details, like summing up Genesis 6:1-7 with:

The world is full of sin
and it is causing me great pain,
So for the first time ever
I will wash it clean with rain.

For the youngest children, this is fine but for the older ones she gives the scripture reference at the bottom of the page so you can read the whole chapter and discuss the giants. (Children LOVE learning about giants!)

You'll also want to make sure and explain that Noah took 7 of each clean animal on the ark instead of only two of all... (I can be picky about Genesis.)

There are some things people can get really dogmatic about, so I'd much rather her skip those parts so we can all fill in our own ideas or do more research.

These are fun books, not books for major theological study. Though they CAN definitely be used as a springboard for further study.

One of my FAVORITE things about these books is the Bible cross references throughout. I totally didn't expect that. How often do you see cross references in a children's Bible story book? I love how the illustrations make potentially scary images look interesting. They still have a bit of a creepy feel, so that they aren't trivialized but aren't terrifying for little children. I dislike storybooks that trivialize scripture. It can be hard to find a balance between protecting and preparing.

If I had a 'favorite' book of the Bible, it would be Daniel. The faith building history is incredible in this book. We have children taken from their parents into a different land yet standing up for their faith and relying on God for help. Then we see them face the firey furnace and the lion's den. We also see God revealing an amazing prophetic dream. These are important things to talk to children about. Standing up for our faith in boldness is something we all need to consider right now.

Many scary things are happening in the world right now. Rather than ignore the truth OR be consumed by fear, lets spend more time with our loved ones. Cuddle more. Read aloud together more. Pray together more. Enjoy the time. Prepare for the natural and economic disasters as much as you can, but do it in joy and anticipation of the promises of God and the coming of His Kingdom. Keep things in perspective. The Rhyme and Reason Series books are an awesome way to help enjoy time with your children and grandchildren right now. I encourage you to get them, give them as gifts, read them at library reading programs... Share the GOOD news in a fun and enjoyable way. I'm so grateful Catherine Zoller has created these fantastic resources!

Flamingo Marketing and Three Reasons You Should Have A Business or Side Hustle

According to my social media feeds, people are becoming more and more concerned. Fuel prices, shortages and distribution issues have thrown us into a full economic crunch. I've been saying for the past 20+ years that we're in another "Great Depression," people just didn't realize it because of the debt they've been living on and all the 'stuff' surrounding them.

I stick to my belief on this issue. No matter the statistics, which are often riddled with assumptions, pre-conceived ideas and agendas, people have been running around doing their level best to keep their heads above water.

I haven't looked it up, but it sure seems there are fewer and fewer stay at home moms, and even fewer without some kind of home-based business, whether they work outside the home or not.

It's definitely time to be proactive. If you don't have that business or side hustle yet, start praying about it now. In the process, I recommend getting Katie Hornor's new book:

2. The reality is there is no new normal

As with every huge event in history, some things will never be the same. We need to face that reality. Katie shares, "I truly believe there is no better time than right now as a believer in the marketplace, to learn how applying God's principles to your business will give you clarity, confidence, and vision."

The concept of normal has always been allusive. Normal is not set by peers, community or society. We each set that in our own minds when we compare ourselves, unhealthily to others. Rather, we should be comparing our walk today by how we've grown through our past. In business, sharing that growth with others is how we share the message God has put in us.

3. You will grow your faith as you grow your business

Faith can be hard. As CEO of my business, I find myself disagreeing with The Owner and arguing with HIM, getting ahead of myself and being a general pain. I'm so glad HE is so patient and faithful with me! As I grow in business, applying the principles of HIS Word, I grow in faith and courage.

Katie encourages, "It is going to be obvious by the light in your eyes, by the love in your heart, by the care of your service and the value you offer that you are different."

...And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this? Esther 4:14

This is not the time to be keeping your message, skills and knowledge to yourself. Whether it's sharing homemaking skills while you sell household items, health information while selling quality food or supplements, sharing hope and encouragement while selling homemade gifts or coaching others in living their best life... You have much to offer.

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16

Bonus: Be like a Flamingo

Flamingos are incredibly unique birds. Did you know they give milk? I didn't until I read Katie's book. I also hadn't realized they are ALL pink. I mean everything is pink. Their skin, blood... not just their feathers. Wow. It helps that pink is one of my favorite colors, these are now one of my favorite birds even though I have little hope of ever seeing one in real life. I may not want to stand on one leg anymore without holding on to something or someone, but standing apart is something I excel at.

Finding Prince Charming by Jessica L. Elliott #Review

Finding Prince Charming is the second book in the Charming Academy series by Jessica L. Elliott. In this installment one of the princes gets cursed and his princess is the one who has to go on a quest. This again isn't a typical princess story. Allegra doesn't feel up to the challenge. She spends some time groveling in the unfairness of the situation. Her classes at Fair Damsels Academy are boring and gross. While she struggles her prince is getting discouraged. He's in danger and is afraid his princess won't want to even look at him much less do what is necessary to break the spell he is under. How could this really be happening? This isn't how it's supposed to go!

Finding Prince Charming is the first sequel to Charming Academy. Allegra discovered during her fourth year in school that her prince would not be coming to save her, as was typical in most fairy tale quests. Rather, she would be saving him. As she struggles to come to terms with this role-reversal, she must finish school, try to figure out where her prince has gone and overcome her greatest fears in order to give this story a "happily ever after" ending.

Isn't that how life really does end up feeling. We all have ideas as children of how our lives will be when we grow up. We'll be able to do anything we want. We won't have to be bossed around. We will fall in love with the perfect person and live happily ever after. Then life hits and there we are. We can either rise to the challenges dealt us or we can wallow in self pity. God gives us real challenges to help build our character and our trust in Him.

Spoiler Alert

Finding Prince Charming is a twist on the Princess and the Frog. The princess ends up wounded in a scary sword fight. The curse her prince is under is from one of the Charmin Academy witches for sticking out his tongue. He wasn't actually supposed to be disciplined for this, it's something the youngest witch did spontaneously.

In Spite of Myself by Katie Hornor #Review

Katie Hornor's newest devotional book, In Spite of Myself, touched my heart right where I am. I spent the first week of this devotional in tears. Katie has a loving way to share the difficulties she's been through that God has turned into beautiful testimony. I choose praise in spite of myself through all the hard things. It's hard. I often fail and complain first. I rant and rave at the injustices. Then God wraps His arms around me and reminds me that it is all in His control. No matter what criticism, slander, rejection, isolation or betrayal I'm going through, and believe me I've gone through some terrible mudslinging, God knows. Yeshua (Jesus) received it even more undeservedly. He knows.

I love the analogy of the boiling water. When the boiling water of life's hardships are poured over you, don't be like a carrot and get all mushy. Be like a coffee bean and spread the aroma of God's love and praise throughout the hot liquid. That can be applied in so many ways. I thought of when I let my coffee sit too long and it gets cold. If the grounds set out in the air very long before brewing, they lose their flavor. We pray for health and safety but He knows sometimes we need rain to grow. We need some animal to come pooh on us to fertilize us for growth. We need to have our fruit plucked and our branches pruned before we can ever even make it to the delicious drink. Coffee beans also have to be roasted and ground. God often used grapes as an analogy, after all the fertilizing, rain, pruning and picking, they have to be stomped and pressed to get the flavorful juice. So do olives to get olive oil. There's nothing wrong with praying and hoping for health and safety but we need to remember to praise, maybe even more gratefully, during the hard and painful times.

"For the Lord God is a sun and shield: The Lord will give grace and glory: No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, Blessed is the man that trusteth in thee."
Psalm 84:11–12

We need to be regularly reminded that God is our provision. He is our protection. He loves us and keeps His promises, always. The best way to make sure you get the reminders you need is to keep reading the Bible. God tucked promises and love notes throughout His Word. If you want to thrive instead of just survive, you can't live by bread alone, but must have the Word of God to help you and guide you.

Charming Academy by Jessica L. Elliott #Review

This is 500 pages of wonderful story, characters, and life lessons. I love books that concentrate on building character in children. This series definitely does that very thing. There were so many applications to real life in these pages. I love that!

We were without internet for about two weeks. It was really nice! I took the opportunity to do some reading with the children. #1 on my list? The Charming Academy series by Jessica L. Elliott. I couldn't possibly read to the children without sharing with you all! First of all, go get this first book on Kindle now. It's free at the moment and I'm not sure how long that will last. It's worth at least $20 as far as I'm concerned, so take advantage of this time. This is 500 pages of wonderful story, characters, and life lessons. I love books that concentrate on building character in children. This series definitely does that very thing. There were so many applications to real life in these pages. I love that!

Growing up is a difficult process for anyone, but for a boy destined to be the Prince Charming of a fairy tale it's an absolute nightmare. Not only must Lucian learn the things normal boys are taught at school, he must also learn the particulars of quests at Charming Academy for Boys. It's not going to be easy! There are sarcastic dragons, vindictive witches, and to top it all off Lucian's princess hates him. Will he survive school to become the Prince Charming his parents believe him to be?

This is not a fluffy, unrealistic, lovey-dovey faerie tale. Our children (even the teen boys) were asking for more each time I closed the book for the night. My favorite thing about this series is the tactful realism. Jessica Elliott isn't afraid to tackle the difficult topics the old faerie tales of the Grimm brothers, Aesop, and Hans Christian Andersen. If you've ever read the original stories, you know they are brutal. If you have a child who is obsessed with the idea of magic, definitely have them read or listen to some of the originals. It will cure them or at least temper the fascination. Of course, if you compare and contrast them with some of the amazing things in the Bible, you can help your children understand where true power comes from and how God uses His to help and protect us and how, sometimes He will even bestow gifts on His people.

Yes, everything I do with my children is in conjunction with the Bible, EVERYTHING. I usually stay clear of anything with faeries or witches for that very reason. The weirder the world around us gets though, the more I feel the LORD calling me to search these things out with our family. I'd rather our children be armed with as much knowledge and history as possible than to be afraid of or just ignoring the "powers and principalities" the Bible clearly warns us about.

Spoiler Alert

Charming Academy is run and taught by faeries who can only do 'good magic' but typically refrain except in certain circumstances. They are presented as magical beings. The disciplinarians are a group of five witches called Sisters. They aren't 'bad' but more ornery. Again they are presented as magical beings, not humans who study witchcraft. The discipline fits the crime and is usually temporary. Occasionally they also bestow a secret blessing on a student which always has interesting consequences causing special challenges for the students. The main purpose for the Academy is to grow Biblical character qualities in the students and prepare them for a faerie tale and happily ever after.

Attending Charming Academy you not only deal with the normal aspects of youth, but there are sarcastic dragons, vindictive witches and your princess hates you. Will Lucian survive school and become the prince his parents believe him to be?

LipSense Review for #SewingGodsSeeds

I'm excited to review this product because it does NOT do that. No smudging or smearing. This LipSense liquid stain will last all day with no hint of wear. It took me a while to get used to liquid lip stain. I've never used a product like this before.

I don't wear a lot of make-up. Hubby definitely doesn't prefer me to. I am very, very fair skinned though which usually leaves me looking pale, washed out, and sickly. When I do wear makeup I try to make it look very natural with thin foundation and neutral blush. The area I accent the most are mascara on my blonde eyelashes so you can see my eyes and bold lipstick on my big, naturally dark lips. Since my lips tend to be dry and chapped and I look sick if they don't have color, I'll seldom skip the lipstick. Lipstick is also a product I'll spend a few extra dollars on for quality. It's a worthy investment for me.

One of my frustrations is the unsightly residue my lipstick always leaves on my coffee cup and the cheeks of my family. I'm excited to review this product because it does NOT do that. No smudging or smearing. This LipSense liquid stain will last all day with no hint of wear.

It took me a while to get used to liquid lip stain. I've never used a product like this before. At first it stung my poor chapped lips but after a week or so of use my lips are plumper and well hydrated. I didn't realize products containing paraffin wax will suppress the natural exfoliation process of your lips.

LipSense contains:

St. John's Wort Extract - antibacterial and skin healing properties
Linden Flower Extract - powerful anti-oxidant

My lips definitely seem much more nourished since I've been using the LipSense.

The color I originally picked for the review is a beautiful cool, matte color called Mulled Wine. It is one of the darkest colors available which is always how I choose lipstick. Unfortunately I found out later that matte colors are harder to work with and streak easily. Also since this is a stain, the color doesn't blend out at all. I looked like my lips were bleeding. I finally did learn to get it on more evenly but my husband thought it made my lips look too small or incomplete.

LipSense Mulled Wine is a cool, dark, matte color. It's gorgeously bold!

This definitely has a sparkly gloss over it. Mulled Wine is a Matte color.

I still loved it enough to want to purchase more. (Thank you Hubby for your patience & generosity!) I selected a frost and a shimmer next in lighter colors. Caramel Apple is a cool, frost that is simply lovely. It looks really nice layered with the Mulled Wine too. I put a quick thin layer of Mulled Wine on first, then layer over the top. It looks so much more natural and doesn't show any streaks. These lip stains take time to work with and get the hang of but they are very worth the effort!

Aussie Rose is the other color I picked to purchase. It's a cool, shimmer. This is a BEAUTIFUL color. I've layered it with each of the other colors. It's simply LOVELY!

Elle Burton and Missing by @PeggyMcAloon #bookReview

Our family just had a delightful adventure with a sweet ten year old girl named Elle Burton. Book one and two of this series were written by Peggy McAlloon and we are really looking forward to the third book! She kinda left us on a bit of a cliff-hanger... I never quite know what to write in book reviews. I don't want to give away any spoilers. I will admit I was skeptical at first because some of the characters sounded a lot like fairies, which I'm opposed to my children having anything to do with. Historically fairies are a species of demon. I think it's very sad how modern story tellers and artists have tried to endear them especially to children.

The Fiorians in Peggy McAlloon's story are created by God with a special mission to watch little children from birth to eight years old. It would be similar to how we think of guardian angels.

Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in Heaven. Matthew 18:10

I know some of my very conservative Christian homeschool friends will still stay clear of these books because of this and I respect that. For the rest of you though, this is a precious story of overcoming bullying, grief, and abuse. The little heroine is a trooper, but she's not an unrealistic girl with nerves of steal. I think our little ten year old Princess could relate to a lot of Elle's struggles. I actually loved the Biblical references throughout the books pointing our little dreamer toward the Lord and His gifts and blessings instead of fantasy magic. Princess loved the gifts the Fiorins have so that each one has a special and unique way to help the children in their charge.

Elle Burton and the Reflective Portals

Elle Burton is an ordinary kid...or so she thinks. On her tenth birthday, she encounters Eunie Mae, a tiny, fairylike being who comes from a world called Fiori. Other than some children under the age of eight, the only human beings who can see Fiorins are guides—people who have been chosen to help protect the children of Earth.

The world of Fiori doesn't have anything that God did not create in it other than maybe Pegasus. But I believe if Jesus is going to be riding a white horse when He arrives in the clouds, that horse must have wings... (Rev. 19:11) I suppose we'll see when He comes won't we? Also God put Pegasus in the constellations.

Missing: Lessons from Fiori - Book 2

We follow Elle Burton in her efforts to find her kidnapped baby brother, JJ. As a newly designated guide, sworn to protect the children of Earth, she's desperate to find her brother and get him back. Elle teams up with the winged warriors from the dimension of Fiori to save him, but JJ isn't the only one in danger. What will Elle sacrifice to bring her brother home?

We were really scared during a lot of this book. It totally kept us on the edge of our seats! It was so suspenseful, our ten year old Princess almost wanted to run up to her room and hide in a few parts. (If you have a very sensitive youngster, you may want to stay close by while listening to the audio version.) Every time I told the children it was time to stop for the evening, they all begged for another chapter. Even the 25 year old kept asking how things were going and what was happening when she would come in from work. Our whole family was so wrapped up in the story!

Author Interview with Peggy McAloon

The children and I had some questions for Mrs. McAloon:

The children's questions first.

From the 17 year old boy: How did you come up with the name Fiorin? (He also has a suggestion. When the next book comes out, could you put in a Fiorin with starry, space-like wings?)

I love this question and have wondered why no one has asked it before. The other dimension required me to envision a new land. Where would the winged creatures who inhabit this world want to live? Since they act as guardian angels to Earth’s children, I decided the dimension should resemble my idea of heaven. I love flowers and my home is surrounded by them. I would want heaven to be filled with incredible blossoms.

My husband and I had just returned from a trip to Italy when I started writing the book, where I fell in love with Florence, Rome, and Tuscany. The Italian word for flowers is Fiore. I loved the sound of the word and simply changed the last letter to a sound-alike “I.” The pronunciation didn’t change.

“Starry, space-like wings:” I love it! It reminds me of the lightning bugs that filled my backyard when I was a child. I have to work on this suggestion!

From the 16 year old girl: Why did you put in a regular sized Pegasus when everything big in our world is small in Fiori and everything small here is big there?

When Graybar first escorted Elle to Fiori, she asked him if he had become big like her or if she was small like him. (Will we ever know?) All things in Fiori are not necessarily the same as they are on Earth. In book two, Elle visits the Fiume Valley where the animals live. The lion, lamb, and koalas she encounters are regular sized.

Pets are comforting to kids, so I wanted to create a house pet common to the Fiorins. It couldn’t be the standard pets we have on Earth.

When I was little, I went to stay with my grandparents in the summer. Grandpa Burton always made sure my visit coincided with the circus coming to town. I remember when I was quite small (5 or 6) we went to the circus and I saw an elephant tied outside the tent. His foot was encircled with a metal bracelet held by a huge chain. He swayed from side-to-side, and I knew he was miserable being tied up.

Then he looked right at me, and a tear slipped from his eye and rolled down his cheek. I wished with everything in my heart that he could suddenly become very small and escape his binding so I could pick him up, cuddle him, and tell him everything would be all right. Authors reach deep into their memories to capture meaningful moments to share with their readers.

From the 14 year old boy: When is the next book going to be out?

Book two, “Missing” was published in 2016. Book three is currently being edited. Right now, I’m working on getting a cover done, so I’m hoping it will be published by the end of the summer.

From the 10 year old girl: What happened to Mr. Vicker and will Elle ever see Pegasus again? (I did explain to her that these are spoilers. LOL) Why did you kill Elle's father?

Those are some very deep questions. I have a feeling Mr. Vicker may show up in one of Elle’s adventures again, but I don’t know for sure. He’s out there!

How could I write a book where Pegasus isn’t there to carry Elle across a crimson sky?

My family has participated in every war, starting with the American Revolution. My ancestor Ambrose Burton fought in that war. Each day, my heart breaks for the children who have lost a parent in the current war. This is a harsh reality for so many children in the United States.

When Elle’s father is killed in Afghanistan in book 1, everyone tells her she needs to be strong for her mother’s sake. I was told this once, too. Children should never be asked to take such a huge responsibility on their shoulders. As a result, Elle acts like a little soldier herself, refusing to really react when her dad dies.

It isn’t until book two that all the emotions she’s hidden for over a year, take a horrible turn for her. Expressing our emotions and talking about our losses and fears is an important lesson for everyone to learn.

My questions:

Are your character's experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

I suffered from bullying and abuse as a child. My mother and grandparents were devoted Christians and taught me to believe in guardian angels. I pictured them as the fairies I saw in my picture books. This is the basis of the Fiorins who protect the world’s children.

My grandfather was the kindest heart I have ever been blessed to know. His name was Tom Burton, and he was loved by everyone he met. He was the perfect model for Elle’s father.

My grandmother’s family came to the United States from Ireland during the potato famine. She was a Kennedy and her name was Eunie Mae. As I write, I am constantly reminded of the two people who influenced me to be kind to everyone.

What books have influenced your life most?

The Bible has been the biggest inspiration. I was taught to memorize many Bible verses as a child. Whenever life has been the most difficult, those verses play in my head and give me comfort.

If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?

This question made my mind spin because I have so many authors I admire and hope to someday be as entertaining as they are. I love to read and spent hours reading every day as a child. The library was only a block from my house and was always my safe place to go. It's where I was able to escape the tragedy in my life. I’d have to say Hans Christian Andersen is the author who gave me the earliest stories to comfort and inspire me to tell more stories which could give hope and empower kids to stand up to the challenges they face in this world.

What book are you reading now?

I just finished reading “Hall of Heroes,” an anthology by a group of clean indie fantasy authors. I loved it!

Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?

I love the dragons of Marc Secchia and H. L. Burke. I hope I never grow up and forget my love of fantasy.

Paul and I were definitely impressed with the quality presentation and information of IS GENESIS HISTORY? documentary. We love seeing God's creation backed up with true science. It definitely doesn't take "millions of years" to come up with the complicated design engineering features surrounding us in nature.

From our 25 year old, "The fact that they didn't try to use polysyllabic words to convey great erudition..." This was understandable to all ages.
The 17 year old's favorite part was from the aquarium with the sharks. All through the fossil record, sharks are still sharks.
From our 15 year old, "I liked the guy who was in the Natural History Museum with the dinosaurs. I liked the way the scientist explained things." This is a real complement because I make them watch LOTS of documentaries.
The 14 year old loved the beginning with the Grand Canyon. He liked the way they explained the layers. Some of the names were funny especially in the accent of the scientist explaining it. The white rock is called Coconino and the red rock is Schnebly Hill formations.
Ten year old Princess loved the zoo animals. The video quality in this production was gorgeous! The animals were beautiful and the colors were so vibrant we almost felt like we were right there with the men as they were talking.

Our family was definitely impressed with this documentary. IS GENESIS HISTORY? is a relevant question in our day and age. The information is backed up with a wonderful list of resources, a study guide, a Devotional Bible Study and more.

Online Christian Filmmakers Academy was not quite what we expected. The behind the scenes technical information in this course is amazing. Family Gravity Media, a division of Families For Christ Ministries, Inc. has done an awesome job of making sure we have all the information to accumulate and use all the proper equipment to make a professional quality film. Going through this class, the children definitely have a renewed respect for all the work and knowledge that goes into a good quality film. (As well as the financial investment needed...)

Online Christian Filmmakers Academy is an online course that can be done at a flexible pace. It includes five modules with six videos each:

The Camera
Cinematography and Lighting
Sound
Pre-production
Production

We really appreciate the Christian perspective with these videos. We are a family that always likes to watch the "behind the scenes" extras and unfortunately even when the movie is clean and family friendly, these extras can have a lot of things that need to be bleeped out. It's nice to know there are filmmakers who can take their job seriously without feeling they need to curse about things. I hope it encourages more Christian aspiring filmmakers to keep their integrity while pursuing their passion.

The children have a lot of great ideas to do some fun things with what they've learned through this program. Our little video camera definitely wasn't the best for this. The 13 & 15 year olds put together this little video. Well, it's totally NOT professional but hopefully it shows a little bit of what they learned.

The Cat of Bubastes AudioDrama Review

The dramatic audio presentation brings it to life in a way that makes you feel like you are running through the sands of Egypt yourself.

Heirloom Audio Productions is by far one of my favorites to review for. Their audio renditions of GA Henty's classic historical novels for children are exceptional. With actors like John Rhys-Davies, you are instantly pulled into each story. The Cat of Bubastes is another awesome production. Set in Ancient Egypt, a young prince and his charioteer become slaves then accidentally kill a 'sacred' cat and end up on the run. The story is full of mystery and adventure. Along the way, the boys learn faith and build character. This is a wonderful family story. The dramatic audio presentation brings it to life in a way that makes you feel like you are running through the sands of Egypt yourself. Our family has loved every one of these audio dramas. Heirloom Audio Productions has done a superb job!

The music is inspiring, the study guide is thought provoking, the posters are beautiful and the video really helps bring the whole thing together for the children. Pop some popcorn & make hot cocoa. Plan to settle in with this gripping story because the children won't want to quit! Our family isn't capable of listening to these one chapter at a time. If we can't listen all in one setting, we are severely disappointed.

Highlights of the story according to our young'ns (Possible Spoiler Alert):

First, when the prince meets the Egyptian priest's son, both thought the other looked really weird and it surprised the priest and his son that the prince could speak their language. So the priest snatched up the prince & his guardian before anyone else could.
When the prince met the priest's son's sister. The queen was snooty but the sister wanted blond hair & blue eyes and didn't want to marry the dude her parents had set her up with.
The boys saved a girl from a crocodile & got twittered with her.
The poor prince keeps getting beat up all the time.
The priest's daughter's cat was beautiful & was going to be used as a sacred cat but as the boys were hunting a predatory hawk, an arrow accidentally ended up in the cat house... in the cat. A fatal wound. The boys berried the cat. The people thought the cat was just 'missing' and were looking for the cat. The priest's son fessed up and told the priest what actually happened and the priest sent the boys away.
That is where the story starts getting REALLY exciting...
The priest made a deal with the guardian to get the boys and take them back to the prince's home. So through political intrigue and excitement, they begin their journey but then go back to get the girls. They disguise themselves and sneak in but get caught and end up in a fight.
It was very exciting when they ran into Moses.

...I won't tell the end, but the children were enthralled and very happy with the end of the story (except that it ended before a wedding...).
