Celebrating Homeschool Moms

Motherhood is cRaZy hard! Add homeschooling to the mix and you've got something that is only possible with God's awesome grace. Praying for clear guidance and direction needs to be a daily (sometimes hourly!) habit.

I know, when I'm struggling with anything and seeking the help of friends or elders, the hardest thing to get people to share with me is applicable, practical help. Often when I've asked for help, I felt either put off or let down by seemingly flippant attitudes. For example, I once asked my grandmother how she survived three boys and her answer was simply, "You do what you have to do."

While her answer was absolutely true, it didn't really help me in a practical way. I know I've read many parenting and homeschooling books and articles that have left me feeling even more overwhelmed. How do I make the children mind me? "You just expect them to mind you." Isn't a practical answer.

I always enjoyed visiting with other moms who would give me steps, techniques, and ideas to apply and experiment with. I had no clue what I was doing and wanted someone to show me how. I'm so grateful now for those few women who took the time to let me into their lives and homes and show me how they survived this awesome adventure of motherhood and homeschooling.
