Children's books about food with #WhatToRead link up

I'm happy today to be joining the What to Read Wednesday Link Up!  This week's theme is dr. Sues and books about food.  My first thought was "Green Eggs and Ham". I don't personally like Dr. Sues, but found his books very helpful in teaching our oldest child phonics.  She needed lots of rhyming to help her understand how to put sounds together.

Some of our favorite children's books about food are old.  We have one Science book about food, one fun Snoopy cookbook, and a Little House on the Prairie History cookbook.

St. Patrick's Day is coming up.  I like to make Green Quiche.  Would you like the recipe?  
Preheat the oven to 375.
In a blender, mix:

• 3 eggs
  
• 1 package cream cheese
  
• a handful of spinach

Sprinkle a pie crust with (all these are optional):

• shredded cheese
  
• sauteed onions
  
• chopped cooked meat (we prefer turkey)

Pour egg mixture on top.  Salt & Pepper to taste.
Bake about 40 minutes until crust looks toasty.
