This year, Hanukkah is in the same week as Christmas. It's kind of a relief this year because it's making it a bit easier for me to plan. The last few years, it's only been a week or two after Thanksgiving, not giving much time.
The holidays have all seemed to sneak up on me the past several years anyway. I always have big ideas for making homemade gifts, sending out personalized cards or letters, and making homemade treats. I've honestly been flying by the seat of my skirt just trying to do a few special things without getting overwhelmed. This year is already starting out different. It helps that I'm more settled in my new job, which has regular hours. I'm still not sure I'll accomplish all I'd like, but I've got a plan and some wonderful ideas to start with. |
By the way, did you make it to the party? My friends and I had an evening of fun and growth as we shared ways to prepare for a stress free holiday. We discussed being intentional this holiday season with practical ideas for gifts and activities with the family.
If you missed it, go ahead and pop into the Facebook event to catch the freebies. There's a coloring book, holiday planner, no-debt gift ideas, an advent nature study and an adorable monkey that helps teach the children about our Savior!
And guess what? We recorded it! Here's the video:
