I‘m a creative mess! Spring is here and I am more in the mood to make a mess than to do any cleaning. I actually think things are in good shape, other than a few dust-bunnies, but Kathryn was chasing some of those yesterday with the broom. I’ve been fearless sewing machine fighting a little bit here and there, but nothing to brag about… No, actually I’ve done some really cool remade denim skirts! Yeah! I have accomplished something! The children have been pretty artsy lately. The girls are drawing pictures constantly. The boys found some Toy Story fuzzy posters and have been having fun with them. A friend introduced us to some YouTube videos on how to make doll stuff. The boys have made a boombox and outdoor grill for GI-Joe, Thor, and Captain America. The girls have got shoe-box houses galore for their Only Hearts Club Dolls. Fun, fun! The older girls are planning outdoor things. One is mulching potential garden beds and the other is fixing fences and pens for the critters. What am I up to? I have no clue, really. I’ve got lots of ideas. Today, I’m stealing an idea from a blogger-buddy. (I am, really! I’m a thief! he,he,he…) David Weiss with AmokArts posted “Does it Honor God?” today. This is a question we should always ask about anything we do, especially with things that last. Our words don’t come back to us and often stay with people for a very long time. It seems especially so when it is something we wish we could take back. Our gifts are important to. When we make or purchase something for someone, we should remember, “It is the thought that counts.” If you can afford something more costly, great, but the same “thought” should apply. Our first “thought” should always be about God and what HE thinks of it…
Romans 14:6 “The one who observes the day, observes it in honor of the Lord. The one who eats, eats in honor of the Lord, since he gives thanks to God, while the one who abstains, abstains in honor of the Lord and gives thanks to God.”
