My third grade teacher had an incubator in the classroom and one of our class projects was to hatch and care for our own little chick or duckling. I don't remember what I named my little duckling, but I loved him and was so proud. I still keep in touch with that teacher. She made an amazing impression on me, making me feel capable and accomplished.
You never know when that moment will come that you can really touch a child's life. Often it can be something as simple as taking time to stop and read a book out loud. For mothers & grandmas, we should start very early. |
Teaching the love of reading and the love of God's creation are very important for nurturing children. Learning about clumsy looking, waddling ducks is a fun way to do this. I'm delighted to share with you some really fun books for the youngest children. The touchy-feely books are my favorite. They are a small board book (hand sized 6 1/2" square) that can easily be tucked in the diaper bag. The textures and bright colors are perfect for keeping little ones busy.
