Another tool is a workbook for the family to go through with additional instruction and ideas for parents and some great discussion questions and verses for memorization. This program is intended for teens, but our 8 & 11 year olds were easily catching on to some of the concepts.
One of my favorite parts was in lesson 4, The Value of Correction. Dr. Turansky and Mrs. Miller shared a 3-step process we can all find very valuable. When we do something wrong ask: 1stWhat did I do wrong? 2nd Why was it wrong? and 3rd What can I do different next time I find myself in a similar situation? Even the 21 & 24 year olds could see the wisdom in those simple questions. (I often go through these steps myself… I just haven’t thought about it quite this way.) As you can see, this is something the whole family can benefit from. Especially if you find your family in repeated conflict, I encourage you to consider buying this. The little bit of time it would take your family to go through this and implement the very realistic suggestions would make a world of difference.
