I am so very ready for fall this year. Our summer was actually pretty nice. We only had a few weeks of nasty, hot weather. The grass stayed pretty green. We had a decent amount of moisture and the nights have been relatively cool.
The summer was incredibly busy and tiring work-wise though, with no time to go swimming or do anything fun and I'm exhausted and just ready for it to be over. If I'm honest, I allowed myself to get a bit burnt out. |
- We have done some deep cleaning, game-playing, and catching up.
- Tomorrow, I'm going to Hobby Lobby with our oldest for some girl-time.
- We're graduating our youngest son this week too. So, we'll only have one homeschooling now. Princess is just starting high school. The grandbabies will start homeschooling about the time she graduates, which is just perfect for me.
Feast of Trumpets
Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day. Psalm 81:3
- In the seventh month, (Septa means seven, September is actually the 7th month of the Holy year)
- in the first day of the month (which is when you see the first sliver after the new moon)
- shall you have a sabbath (a special rest day)
- a memorial (remembrance, reminder, record of a past event)
- of blowing of trumpets
- an holy convocation (an assembly of the people)
And the Lord said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify them to day and to morrow, and let them wash their clothes, And be ready against the third day: for the third day the Lord will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai... And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled. Exodus 19
We also look forward to the Trumpet of the Lord calling us home, an event which seems closer every year and we are really looking forward to.
And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. Matthew 24:31
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 1 Corinthians 15:52
And the morning breaks, eternal, bright and fair;
When the saved of earth shall gather over on the other shore,
And the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there.
Chorus:
When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there.
