Firecrackers are EXPLOSIVES. Let’s get that out in the open 1st. Yep, I’m an overprotective Mommy. My children do play with fireworks, under strict supervision. We have lots of fun, but I don’t like seeing people (especially children) treating them lightly or disrespectfully.
The word for firecracker in Chinese means “exploding bamboo”. That is exactly where they got their start. When the Chinese invented gunpowder, it sounded like exploding bamboo. The funny thing is, they were trying to create a “potion of immortality”. Well, that didn't work out so well, did it?

- Red= Strontium for an intense red or Lithium for medium red
- Orange= Calcium
- Yellow= Sodium
- Apple Green= Barium
- Blue= Copper
- Azure= Cesium
- Violet= Potassium for a light pinkish violet or Rubidium for violet-red
- Gold= Charcoal, iron, or lampblack
- White= Titanium, aluminum, beryllium, or magnesium powders
