I haven't been invited to a "Home Show" for a long time. I used to get an invitation to a Pampered Chef, Longaberger, Tupperware, or Discovery Toys party at least once a year. I used to host about one show a year as well. For the past several years, I've caught the Tupperware consultant at theCow Chip craft show. It's probably just as well since the drought hit us so hard. I couldn't afford to purchase anything fun for years. Now that things are a little less tight for us, I'm missing seeing all those fun things I didn't know I needed! If I end up getting a bunch of invitations after this post; I asked for it didn't I?! Remember, Facebook parties don't count!

Yes, I get lots of invitations to Facebook parties. I enjoy them too, I've even hosted and organized a few myself. It's so nice to have that option when friends and family are far away. I do miss the intimacy of a home show though. When it's at someone else's house, I get to:
- See their new decor. I love seeing other ladies' ideas for decorating their home!
- Eat & drink fun new things. Out here the ladies usually have a new dip, desert, and punch. YUM!
- I get to see people I rarely bump into. I miss the personal interaction & catching up on family news.
- I 'get' to clean my house so the ladies I invite aren't shocked.
- I get to practice hospitality with fun decor & snacks.
- I get to see people I rarely bump into. I miss the personal interaction & catching up on family news.
- Don't have to dress up...
- Can eat & drink whatever you want and no-one will notice thepopcorn orcocoa dribbles on your pj's...
- No-one sees the laundry or dishes piled around the house!
- No hugs. I'm not a super, huggy person, but I like them on occasion.
- No special... anything ...unless you buy or make a special treat for the occasion.
- You're trying to have a party attitude while your laundry & dishes are screaming at you. (And the children are bouncing around, or looking zombified in front of a video.. again.)
Has this post made you consider hosting a home show? If so, contact your favorite local consultant of whatever fun goodies and book a show this year! If nothing else, you know you are going to get some fun booking gift and maybe even some 1/2 priced items! You remember the look in her eyes last time she asked you (maybe even begged!) to host a show for her business? She's trying really hard to grow that little business for a good reason. Was she wanting to be able to be home full time with her children? Was she wanting to make enough to purchase something special? Was she wanting to help take some financial burden off her husband's shoulders? Do you feel sorry for her yet? I know... I know... I'm being silly, but I bet you had someone's face pop up in your mind didn't you?
