This week's What to Read Linkup theme is Jonah/Whales. What a fun topic! I have some fun things to share with you, but first I'd like to share a few scriptures:
Jonah 1:17 "Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights." Matthew 12:40 "For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." Now, I don't want to split any churches, but... Wed, Thurs, & Fri = 3 nights + Thurs, Fri, & Sat = 3 days ...What do you think? |
The Monster Fish
"The goal of ‘The Wenders’ family camping adventure series is to both entertain, enlighten and educate young and inquisitive minds about the great outdoors of North America. We don’t feature talking animals nor mythical fables but take a more realistic approach to outdoor adventure stories. We sincerely believe you and your child will love our stories." (for ages 3+) |
"Moonfleet was written in 1898, by John Meade Falkner, an English novelist and poet. He based the village of Moonfleet on East Fleet, a fishing village in Dorset, on the south coast of England. Carisbrook Castle, where John finds Blackbeard's treasure, is on the Isle of Wight. It really was used as a prison in the 17th century, and has a small room, with a deep, dark well...
This fabulous new series is for fully confident readers and helps build up stamina for reading standard-length books. It contains advanced sentence structure and vocabulary with challenging plots and subplots." |
And just for fun...
