Fall is in the air. Even on warm days, there is a crispness to the air reminding you to keep a jacket, sweater or shawl handy. In Autumn, leggings are my friend. This year I splurged on a few regular men’s t-shirts on sale and decorated them. I have some cute ribbing left over from years of making baby rompers to open the neckline a bit & give some contrast. I tried appliqueing a cute owl. He came out crooked, so I sewed the button eyes to make it look like he was trying to gain his balance. It looks silly, but I’ve gotten lots of compliments on this top. I get to wear my favorite Who’s Who Hair Pretty with it to make a fun owly look. I wore them with my favorite old denim skirt.
Grey has been one of my colors for the past few years. I LOVE this grey skirt from HannahLise.com. I’ve had it for 4 or 5 years now and it goes with soooo much. Stains don’t show up, and the older it gets, the better it looks, in my opinion. You can see other combinations with these skirts from my Spring Seasonal Skirts post. This time I decked out with a new top I got on sale at Tractor Supply for a few dollars. It has rusty roses and horseshoes sprinkled over the aqua knit. I love these 1/2 sleeves and the coordinating topstitching. I used an x-small Star in a Horseshoe Hair Pretty to pull my hair into a half pony. I had mocassin loafers on. Hubby didn’t catch that. Shela was wanting in the picture too. She was fat with puppies at the time, she had 8 a few days later. They are so cute!
Cowgirls can be feminine too. A full denim yoke skirt, plaid wrangler shirt, favorite western boots, hat, belt & …yes I sometimes have a gun on my side in case of rattlesnakes or rabid skunks.
One of my favorite wardrobe pieces is my denim jumper. I used to have a lot of them. They have deep armholes, making nursing easy and accessible. While I was expecting, they were full & I’d cinch them up so the waist was above my growing belly. This one is nice post baby with a straight skirt. The front pocket’s handy to hold cellphone.
