It's wheat harvest time in Oklahoma & Texas panhandles. Most of the fields were baled early to feed to the cattle. The 2nd dust bowl was hard on the grass pastures so the wheat grass makes nice hay for the cattle. There are still large fields of golden wheat bowing heads to the LORD of all creation waiting to be cut, threshed, and separated from the chaff. Most farmers out here have a respect for "The Man Above" and are quick to see HIS hand in their lives. You'd think when things are hard and the crops are slim or even completely ruined, they'd deny God and turn their backs on HIM. That's not usually the case though. In the toughest times you'll see the cowboys bowing next to their horses and the farmers filling the church pews even more.

Shavuot is the "Feast of Weeks" or better known as "Pentecost".
Have you been watching the sky? Mercury recently moved between us and the sun and Jupiter, Saturn & Mars are all close this month too. (EarthSky.org) The constellation in the sky highlighted this month is Gemini. God had a special plan for this sign in the sky. Here's an excerpt from my book Star Chronicles: A Bible-Based Study of the Stars:
- It is the day God gave Moses the Commandments on Mount Sinai.
- It is the 7 weeks after Passover.
- It is also the day God sent His Holy Spirit to the disciples 10 days after Y'shua, Jesus ascended into heaven.

Gemini is the name of the twins in the sky. In Babylon, the twins were called Meshlamtaea, which means “The ONE who has arisen from the underworld” and Lugalirra, “Mighty King.” This is so exciting to me! One of the “twins” is obviously a prophecy of Jesus; crucified and resurrected and the other is Jesus as King.
The twins are in the sky in June, which is the time of the Feast of Weeks, Shavuot, or Pentecost (Deuteronomy 16:9-10, 16). In the Old Testament, this was the actual day the LORD God spoke with His own thundering voice the Ten Commandments in Exodus 20. It scared the people so badly that “they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die” (Exodus 20:19). God wanted them to remember and obey. Pentecost is a feast of harvesting. Wheat and barley harvest is this time. It is also the time when God sent the Holy Spirit to the disciples in Acts chapter 2.
I love some of the names of the stars in this constellation. It reminds me of so many things in scripture.

Some people think Shavuot still has prophetic significance. I tend to agree, but I'm not sure yet how. Some think this will be the time of year the "rapture" will take place. (Here is an interesting video...) I'm not sure about that, maybe. I tend to think Feast of Trumpets fits that better. I have wondered if this will be the time the Two Witnesses of Revelation will show up. Its fun to study and think about how God will bring all these things together. We're living in exciting times to be sure. What do you think?
