These books have been a lot of fun to read. It’s exceptionally important to me that they are CLEAN. I love that there is a female heroine, but she is totally feminine. In a way, she’s similar to Cinderella. She begins as a simple servant girl and ends a Lady and part of the circle of Lords. While these are “fantasy,” they are completely Christian. The characters are constantly comparing, striving, or wishing for Biblical character traits. Each has a struggle they are going through and a flaw to overcome. True repentance is explored thoroughly and consequences are considered mandatory. Grace and mercy are also tucked in, but not overdone. “Magic” or “spells” in the book are CLEARLY one of three things; herbalism, a special gift from “Eternal,” or evil. The only thing I didn’t like were the undead. After the first night of reading, I dreamed my fluffy stuffed kitty had kittens. She had 5 little white kittens, 2 medium size grey kittens (we have a grey male barn cat…) and one big poodle. Weird. If you read this with young children, you may want to skim over some of the undead stuff & some of the battle sequences. They aren’t too violent, but preread before sharing them with little ones or children who are more sensitive to such things. I have a few children who love the gore and a few who have issues. Be discerning…

The Stormcaller (The Legends of Turmak)
Description: The path of the fallen is a war of the heart.
On the Isle of Türmak, a power-hungry necromancer longs to resurrect the unholy spirit of the Dragon. At his side is a legendary swordsman named Legion whose unique immunity to magic has enabled him to single-handedly crippled the kingdom of Freeport from defending itself against the necromancer’s plot.
When Andrea, a young slave who has magical powers beyond human comprehension, finds her way to Freeport the tides of war begin to change. But is her faith in her abilities strong enough to stop even Legion?
With surprising twists and imaginative medieval battles, The Stormcaller is an illustrative tale of redemption from the pits of the darkest kind of evil.
The Dragon (The Legends of Turmak)
Description: Picking up three months after the devastating events in “The Stormcaller,” “The Dragon” finds Andrea, a former slave girl turned heroine, on the brink of a destiny she does not want. When an assassin’s blade leaves her blind and poisoned, hanging on the brink of death, a perilous mission is undertaken to find a magical flower that has the healing properties to restore Andrea’s life.
The fate of the kingdom hangs in the balance because while Andrea, Freeport’s most renowned defender, fights for her life, the Dragon prepares for an assault on the people of Türmak larger and more deadly than any before. Andrea’s fate, along with that of all of Türmak, rests in the hands of the only man capable of retrieving the precious flower, a former knight and convicted murderer named Alexander, known throughout the isle as Legion.
