Life is taking a turn. If you've been reading my blog for very many years, you've read such from me before. We all have seasons in our lives. I only had two children when I started blogging. (It wasn't even called 'blogging' at that point.) At one time I had THREE blogs and THREE in diapers at the same time. Yep, I'm nuts! When I learn something new, I MUST regurgitate it and since I constantly have myself in a state of learning, well a blog is a natural receptacle for dumping my brain overload. I'm realizing now, even though I love many aspects of blogging, I really should have been putting more creative energy into writing books.

While this is kinda sad to me, it is also somewhat exciting. If I spend less time blogging, hopefully I'll find myself spending more time writing in general. I have several books started and several more ideas. I may never be a rich author but, with the popularity of ebooks, it is a little extra regular income.
I also have a few friends who would probably enjoy exchanging some real handwritten letters again instead of having to look me up online to find out what's going on in my life. I know I'm not the only one who's noticed a decline in personal involvement. I've heard many grandmothers complain that they HAD to get a facebook account just to see pictures of their grandchildren. I know I'm guilty... and it is really so sad! What are we doing ladies?
So, what Season of life are you in right now?
- Still wet behind the ears.
- Ready to change the world.
- Starting a precious new family.
- Overwhelmed with life.
- Taking it easy and enjoying my family.
- Wishing they'd come visit more.
- What was the question?
I've been in the "Taking it easy..." season. Not that everything is all laid back and 'easy' but that I'm not constantly nursing, changing diapers, and answering the 'why' question anymore. I can sit down and read a whole chapter (or several) of a classic book with our children without tons of wiggling and interruptions, then we can have a meaningful discussion afterwards. They can all prepare a meal and clean the house. Since they are trained relatively well and understand teamwork (most of the time) my mommy stress level is relatively low. My husband is home more as well, which is so nice. He helps with cooking and homeschooling. What a blessing to have been able to enjoy this season!
Since I struggle with my health, it has been really nice to have this time to concentrate on resting & getting well. I've loved making wonderful memories with my beautiful family. Now it's time to get busy again:
- It's time to create high school portfolios for the middle two.
- It's time to prepare the younger two for high school.
- It's time to publish some more books.
- It's time to prepare for the coming of the LORD.
How am I doing all this? One step at a time and I'll be sharing it with you here as I can. In the comments below, let me know what season you are in and what changes you're looking forward to next. If you haven't filled out my 2016 Survey, please do. I'd love to learn more about you! You are all in my prayers!
