This isn't just a sappy love story. It's a fascinating mystery intertwined with a backslidden young woman finding her way back home to God and the people who truly love her. The bits of history are fun and the relationships are so believable. I loved the redhead's fiery temper and her self consciousness around the men showing interest in her. People making hard commitments to the Lord and having to pray their way through situations was frustratingly relatable. My favorite character was the waitress. I could feel her wisdom and experience seeping through the pages. I wanted to reach through and hug the woman! (Yes, I have an odd relationship with my reading...)
