It's that time of year again. Vacations, camp meetings, family trips, vacation Bible school & summer camps fill the thoughts and plans of american families. Many families out here enjoy going to New Mexico or Missouri for a week. The summers end up being extremely hectic with wheat harvest, baseball & swimming lessons. By the end of summer most moms feel like they've ridden a whirlwind. Between the heat and stress they are overwhelmed and exhausted.
I encourage you this year to slow down and take time to enjoy your family. Don't concentrate so much on the things you are doing, but the people you are with. |
Make sure to spend some quiet days at home reading books, coloring, baking cookies and playing on the floor together. Stop and listen to your children's ideas, dreams and ambitions. Enjoy early morning sunrise and late evening sunsets. Brush the dogs, pet the cats, fry some chicken... Make sun-tea. When you do have to get out of the house and travel, take some fun activity books with you for the children to enjoy. Learn and explore with them.
