Valentine's Day is just around the corner. It's not a big holiday in our home so I never expect much. Occasionally Hubby will get me some flowers and sometimes the children will make cards but it often goes by with little notice. Whether it's a special day or not, sometimes it's hard to watch all the valentine ideas, crafts, & tips popping up all over the internet, junk mail & store aisles. Some are cute. Some are beautiful. Some are sweet or tasty... Sometimes though, I'm just not in the mood. We're well into or near the end of (never know in Oklahoma for sure) winter. Many of us get a touch of the "Winter Blues". Maybe we need that valentine pick-me-up?

If you're feeling a bit blue this year, or maybe even feel like you've "Lost that Lovin' Feelin'" like the Righteous Brothers sang about... I have some ideas that may help cheer you up and maybe even give you a new spark!
- Pray - Prayer is always the best way to lift the spirit & help the attitude. HE is always here for us. HE loves us! Danielle Tate has some tips on effective prayer with a printable Prayer Calendar.
- Lavender Essential Oil - I know it seems like everyone is talking about essential oils lately. Well, we've used Lavender for nearly 20 years now and I promise it's an oil that is so very soothing. Virginia George wrote an excellent post about it on her blog: Meet Lavender
- Say "I Love You!" - Don't forget these wonderful words of affirmation. They are so important. One never knows how long our loved ones will be with us. Don't regret what you didn't say... Katie at Paradise Praises has 14 Ways to Tell Your Husband "I Love You". Most of these ideas will work for other friends and family too.
- Read a book - There are so many good ones but this past year my favorite has been C Through Marriage by Jim Hughes. You can see my review HERE.
Favorite from 1/28 (Sorry, I missed last week...)
