Do you sometimes feel like your light is flickering, on it's last bit of oxygen, losing heat, plunging into darkness...?
Yep, me too. Some days, weeks, months, years... are just hard. I tend to paint on a smile for others, when I'm away from home. When I know I have a meeting or event I have to attend, I work myself up to being happy for the moment. I try to be cheerful and bring light to people around me. I see those struggling faces, the ones showing on the outside how I'm really feeling on the inside. I want to help them feel better than I do. So I smile and visit and share love in whatever way I can. By the end of the event, I'm drained. |
On the other hand, sometimes there doesn't feel like there is much light to share.
Then Jesus spoke again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. John 8:12
Lord, lift thou up the light of your countenance upon us. Psalm 4:6
I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. John 12:46
You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 1 Peter 2:9
But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. Proverbs 4:18
